PARKER PEOPLE PORTRAITS: PALM BEACH
Ronald K. Parker, Ph.D.

Picasso did it. So did Warhol. Now, enjoy PARKER PEOPLE portraits.

Picasso did a series of what he called “Les Portraits, Imaginaires” in the 1960s. Warhol’s portraits in the 1970s focused on celebrities. Parker’s portraits in 2026 are inspired by his world travels, in this case Palm Beach where he has resided, in season, for 25 years. These mixed media works on paper have no antecedent in art history. Original, non-derivative expression of affluence and affectations, these eccentric works are positive, colorful creations of Parker’s vision. A vision that is iconoclastic, irreverent, and provocative, with a humorous overtone. The nine new mixed-media works command our attention and are very memorable after one viewing. You know instantly which works you like (all of them?). In a home, the multiple

combinations and placements of these portraits make a statement and a guaranteed fun source of conversation. According to one art critic, Dr. Richard Sclafani, “Parker skillfully creates a considerable range of portraits with his strength of line and distinctive splashes of color. His portraits are not of an individual but rather of types creatively rendered. Drawing is a difficult art which few ever master. Ron Parker does just that.”

A noted Manhattan art publisher commented, “Parker’s art is mysteriously satisfying and simply elegant”
